Luce County Road 412 Now Open to Crisp Point!

The new culvert arrived from Kentucky on Wednesday as planned and was installed by the Luce County Road Commission on Thursday, May 25.  On Friday there was some more fill work to do and they added gravel back on the road bed.  Sometime after the Holiday Weekend the Road Commission will have to do some final work but this work will not cause a complete closure of the road. However there may be some short delays while equipment is in the area.  So please stay alert and as always drive with caution when you are on County Road 412.  We recommend turning on your lights so that oncoming traffic will see you sooner.

Today will be our official opening for the year. The tower and grounds will be open. The visitors center may have limited access today as we put everything away and get it set up for the summer.  The restrooms should be open for use. The phone line was broke when the road washed out so we don’t think it will be working this weekend either. So be careful because we will not be able to call for help! Have a great summer everyone, and we’ll keep the light on for ya!

July 4, 2017 UPDATE: The phone line at the Crisp Point Visitor Center is now working again.
