Hi everyone, as many of you have already heard, Luce County Road 412 is currently closed at a washout at 3 Mile Creek.  This is along the only recommended route to Crisp Point Lighthouse.  In addition, the phone line is currently out of service to the lighthouse as the phone line was cut at this location.  We received an update from the Luce County Road Commission earlier in the week. They have talked to the MDEQ about the proposed plans for replacing the culvert on CR 412 at 3 Mile Creek. The LCRC has ordered a 6 foot diameter culvert pipe as they anticipate their approval of the proposed plan. The new culvert pipe is expected to be delivered on or about May 24th.

They are hoping to get the road opened by May 26th. But that depends on final approval by MDEQ and if the stream flow subsides as expected to allow a safe work environment and if the culvert pipe arrives by May 24th.

LCRC said they will keep us posted if things change or they get a more definite date for getting the road opened.  Let’s all hope for dry weather!
